Grow vegetables in your garden!
This year we decided to grow tomatoes in our garden!
Some important conditions for the cultivation of tomatoes in the open field:
In the open ground for planting tomatoes find sunny place, protected from cold winds. Unsuitable low, damp areas, with close standing groundwater that create unfavourable conditions for plant root system.
Every good gardener has a compost heap or pit box for compost. Preparation of garden compost by your own hands does not require special skills or effort, and are cheap. Correct compost will help save other fertilizers, as well as save power for irrigation and garbage, as garden and kitchen waste will go to the compost container.
Tomatoes need all the necessary elements of mineral nutrition, but most of all potassium, nitrogen and phosphorus. Phosphorus deficiency reduces the absorption of nitrogen by plants, which leads to the cessation of growth delay knotting, formation and ripening. When mineral starvation leaves turn blue-green color, then grayish. Tomatoes are especially sensitive to a lack of phosphorus in the initial period of growth, so the soil for planting tomatoes usually immediately make superphosphate .
Feeding the plants should be throughout the season and do it better every month. Fertilizer or compost must place between the rows.
Better to make fertilizer 1-2 weeks before planting. And fertilizer should choose a small nitrogen content relative to other components. Proper garden compost is beneficial in every sense. For plants, compost, soil – this is a good organic fertilizer, rich in essential trace elements and humus. Soil compost is a natural air conditioning: it improves soil structure, loosens and trap moisture and fertilizer at the roots of plants.
Here is one of mandarin trees that are growing in our garden, too:
Mandarin is very picky about soil composition. It should be light, air and moisture permeable. Soil mix up sheet, sod land and peat, sand and humus, taken in equal proportions. As the tree grows sod land share in the mixture increases.
