Nutrition using “five colors” brings health benefits

In Chinese culture, food and medicine are closely intertwined.

More than 3,000 years ago, the Yellow Emperor wrote in his book on internal medicine that people who want to live long and stay healthy, should eat food that has a “five colors, five tastes, five flavors.”
The food of the products corresponding to the five colors is for Chinese medicine and nutrition is especially important. It is believed that each color is associated with vital organ: red with hearts, yellow with spleen, liver, green and white with light, black kidney. The colors also correspond to the five basic natural elements (fire, earth, wood, metal and water).
1.The white products (metal)

Products give white people a sense of purity and is purified the lungs. They are well-corrected eye and calm the senses. Examples of white products: Jicama – Mexican root vegetable with a sweetish pulp in ivory, which is sometimes called the Mexican potato (Mexican potato), Mexican turnip (Mexican turnip) and yam bean (bean yamsovy), mushrooms, onions, parsnips, cauliflower, onions, shallots and turnips.

 

2. Green products (wood)

Green means life and affects the liver. This is a fundamental link in the food chain, and the green products are a staple food for humans and animals. Examples of green products: avocado, spinach, broccoli and green grapes.
3. Ferrous products (water)
Black color has an effect on the kidneys. Examples of black products: black mushrooms (Woodear), sea cucumbers, thousand-year egg (a Chinese delicacy), black sesame and black rice.
4. Red foods (fire)

Red affects the heart. If you no longer eat red foods, you can strengthen your immune system and prevent colds. Examples of red foods: red apples, strawberries, tomatoes and beets.
5. Yellow foods (land)

Chicken: chicken with lotus root, black mushrooms and soybeans.
Yellow affects the spleen. The spleen transforms and delivers energy from food and liquid throughout the body. Yellow food affects the stomach. Examples of yellow products: corn, yellow pepper, melon and pineapple.
If you are cooking, for example, beef and onions, the dish will look dull and lifeless. You can add a little green onion, red pepper and yellow zucchini.
A little more courage to prepare your food! Unless you are using a multi-colored food, you can get the most from of your food.
